The European Council of Leading Business Schools (ECLBS) has signed a Bilateral Recognition Agreement (BRA) with the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (AKK), a state agency responsible for ensuring the quality of higher education in Kosovo. The agreement aims to facilitate the recognition of academic qualifications between the two organizations and promote academic mobility and cooperation between Europe and Kosovo.
ABOUT KAA
The Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) is an independent agency responsible for ensuring the quality of higher education in Kosovo through accreditation and quality assurance processes. It was established in 2008 and operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
The KAA's primary role is to accredit higher education institutions and study programs in Kosovo. To become accredited, institutions and study programs undergo a rigorous process of self-assessment and external evaluation. The KAA evaluates institutions and study programs based on a set of criteria that include the quality of academic programs, the qualifications of faculty, the effectiveness of institutional leadership and governance, and the resources and facilities available to students.
The KAA also works to promote and enhance the quality of higher education in Kosovo through a range of other activities. These include providing guidance and support to institutions and quality assurance agencies, conducting training and capacity-building programs for higher education professionals, and collaborating with international organizations to promote good practices in higher education quality assurance.
In addition to its accreditation and quality assurance activities, the KAA also maintains a database of accredited institutions and study programs in Kosovo. This database provides important information to students, parents, and other stakeholders about the quality of higher education institutions and programs in the country.
Overall, the Kosovo Accreditation Agency plays an important role in ensuring the quality of higher education in Kosovo. Its accreditation and quality assurance processes help to ensure that institutions and study programs meet high standards for academic quality, while its other activities promote continuous improvement and the sharing of good practices among higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies in Kosovo and beyond.
The agreement also seeks to promote academic cooperation between ECLBS member institutions and Kosovan universities and research institutes. This includes joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and other forms of academic collaboration aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Europe and Kosovo.
Through this agreement, ECLBS and AKK are working to strengthen the quality and recognition of higher education in Kosovo, and promote greater academic cooperation between Europe and the Balkans. This will benefit students, faculty, and researchers by facilitating academic mobility and promoting the exchange of ideas and knowledge across borders. It will also support the development of the higher education sector in Kosovo, contributing to the country's economic and social development.
